Community Gospel Church is a Bible-centered fellowship that believes in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God.
John 1:1-4,14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
We believe that Jesus Christ came to be a sacrifice for our sins
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
We believe there is only one way to Heaven.
John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
We recognize the importance of water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. This is an experience all Christians must have to fulfill the promises of scripture. Our preferred doctrine on baptism is baptism by immersion at an age of understanding. We believe there is a second baptism commonly referred to as the baptism in the Holy Spirit which is usually accomplished by the laying on of hands and usually evidenced by speaking in tongues.
Acts 19:1-6 "And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied."
We believe the fruit of the Holy Spirit are present and visible in the believer.
Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still valid and available to believers.
John 14:15-18 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
John 15:26-27 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning."
